This is for all the people who haven’t watched the movie ’3-idiots’ because they think that the movie is solely based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Five Point Someone’: Go and Watch it because it isn’t solely based on it.
I didn’t want to kill the excitement for the prospective viewers here by writing about the movie…
oh I can’t control..
I think that Chetan Bhagat’s novel had enough melodrama of its own, but, still it didn’t satisfy the creative hunger of our bollywood film makers. Therefore, Ryan was converted into a feel good spirit aka Rancho aka Phunsukh Vangdu (played by Aamir) waving ‘All Izz Well’ magic wand in the air like Munnabhai distributing free magical hugs( jaddu ki jhappi). This character was elevated from the ‘five point someone’ league to the topper of the class; Quite necessary for geeky Aamir to play this character. And, on top of it, he is the one who gets to kiss the cherian girl(played by Karina). Hari becomes Farhaan, whose real passion lies in wild life photography while, Alok’s character has remained untouched except his suicide act, which has been tweaked a bit.
A rather anti-social Ryan has become an overrated people’s man; Even delivering babies with his geeky vacuum cleaner inventions, compelling even the gynae’s to take a gasp..
. And, even babies seem to kick in his ‘All Izz Well’ spell so naturally that soon its going to surpass ‘Jai Hoo’ anthem. I can undertsand now, why it took so long to make the movie; Aamir must be stuck with his two point agenda : I wont be some underrated student, I need to be a class topper atleast with some 400 patents later in the movie and I need the girl man, I am the hero… All Izz Well, as long as the audience enjoys it…..jahan-panah kubool karein!!!!

thanks for the appreciation and motivation buddy. Will surely visit your blog.
Well first I went to watch the movie, I thought it was correct adaptation of five point someone. I searched the name of Chetan Bhagat and did not find it, then I came to know that the movie was influenced by the film. I should say that I enjoyed the movie
Yeah, its another feather from Hiraani’s hat( Munnabhai fame) and again, he has been able to convince the audience with his ‘All Izz Well’ spell, to stop worrying however, fucked up their life might be.Most of the creative people be it film makers, fashion designers, or writers, they tend to replicate a basic theme into various shapes in their works. In case of Hirani, it seems to be ‘Stop Worrying, Live Life’.Likewise, I have read two novels from paulo cohelo and his basic theme is as follows: Follow your inner voice and the whole universe will conspire to help you achieve that.Atleast, this is what I was able to make out from two novels i read namely, The Alchemist and The Zahir.Similarly, Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead fame has played with the idea of egotism. While, Chetan Bhagat is all about this brat within himself and witty humour
, thats the reason we all are able to identify with his characters. I’m currenting reading his ’2 States’…
I need to watch this one, hearing a lot of good things about it.
Go for it dude…complete entertainment!!!
